Have you seen this great EK charity project?

The Shoebox Thing is a simple idea with a huge benefit to women, children and young people who are experiencing, or have experienced domestic abuse.

Started in EK by local resident Sarah Gallagher, the project has been running for several years and has helped many affected women and their children to have a better Christmas with a festive wrapped shoebox containing small gifts and treats.

But much like the rest of our Coved affected lives this year, the Shoebox Thing has had to adapt. So, with the risk of collecting and handling the donations, Sarah and her daughter Ava have decided to do a festive sponsored 10k run around East Kilbride on Saturday 19th Dec - dressed in some festive decorations - and asking supporters to to make a donation to fund this year's shoeboxes.

You can donate on their just giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/theshoeboxthing10k?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=theshoeboxthing10k&utm_campaign=pfp-whatsapp&utm_term=f3e000f5a49b4e80bf5aeb4119e064bf

Sarah and Ava are asking you to think of those less fortunate at this time of year and dig deep into your pockets, wallets and purses to donate anything you can possibly afford.
