In normal times during the winter, most of us would know where our nearest grit bin is - and it would have enough in it to allow us to clear our paths.
But of course, these are not normal times. Covid has seen to that and the whereabouts of your grit bin may not be at the forefront of your mind - nor the Council's, who are responsible for maintaining it.
Given the treacherous state of EK streets and the Council’s limited services, you might like to use this handy location map to find out where your bin is.

And here’s a handy tip on how to use the grit to best de-ice your area. Put small amounts of grit along the route you want to clear and then use a brush to work it in. Doing this will clear larger areas quicker.
